Once per week max, 9-14 days is closer to ideal unless you are Ronnie Coleman.

Re: Training Multiple Body Parts - Get Voting!

Do you not agree with less volume you can stimulate the same protein synthesis and train a muscle more often?

No.

I use very little volume as it is, 1-2 sets, training with sufficient intensity requires both muscle and CNS recovery.

James is finding this too since training HIT, so it is not just the genetically average like myself.

I've been training HIT and its ace. The focus on the muscle is amazing and the pumps etc are quality. I havent had DOMS like these is ages.

My routine lets me train each muscle every 7-9 days.

Yes, similar, I do not agree with Mentzer 100%, but it is a good place to start.

My training is very much like Dorian Yates' in Blood and Guts DVD.

You can see some clips on Supercells Arnold Classic thread.

At this moment in time out training is

Chest and Triceps

Back and Calves

Delts and Biceps

Quads and Hams

Over a 7 day period, Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat.

This is too much, and will be cut back shortly.

Chest and tricps today for example was:

Bench Press

2 warm ups

180kg x 5
200kg x 1

50 Degree Inc Flye

35kg x 10
50kg x 9+1f

Bench Press Machine

1 set to failure, + one drop.

Parallel Tricep Dips

BW x 10
20kg x 10
40kg x 8ish plus a drop to BW

Reverse Grip Push down

3/4 stack x 12
Stack x 15ish (to failure) + one drop

Bench Press is weaker than normal due to delts not recovering on this split from Friday, and I'd not done dips for triceps for a couple of months.
