I wouldnt say i use any HIT principles tbh mate. I rarely train to failure, although i do some rest pause work.

I dont dig the whole 1 set thing either tbh.

I just get in the gym, lift some heavy ass weights. Normally about 8 to 10 sets per session. Then thats me done

Re: Strength Improvements from Routine...

Rippetoes starting strength is a good routine yes.

Or just do 2 full body routines a week. Mon/ thurs

Tues you could do some cardio or whatever.

Or do an upper/lower split and alternate.

There is loads and loads of these klinda threads mate, use the search button ;)

Re: Strength Improvements from Routine...

Does everybody agree that i should keep my current routine as i cant have day on day off , but do bench, deads and squats at 5 x 5 ?
Should i not squat monday and thursday ?
Also, by the time ive done my 3 chest exercises i really struggle on the tricep ones, they seem very tired already.
Should i do tricep exercises then chest then tricep or all one muscle then all of the other ?

Re: Strength Improvements from Routine...

The problem with not having a day off is your not going to give yourself any rest...

Can you do Saturdays?

Re: Strength Improvements from Routine...

Would nothing work like
monday - bench, squat, dead, dips, pullups, millitary press, bent over row
Tuesday - Smaller isolation movements ?
Thursday - bench, squat, dead, dips, pullups, millitary press, bent over row

Re: Strength Improvements from Routine...

You could do just two days at the gym Monday and Thursday and still do rippetoes starting strength...

Monday
Squat
Bench Press
Deadlift

Thursday
Squat
Military Press
Bent over Row

use the Tuesday as rest! if you keep adding weight you will need it!
