![]() | Re: Squats and Deadlifts. They are 2 of the 'major 3' lifts. so, separate them into three workouts because doing them right will take the wind out of your socks. I dead for back (works lower back) and squat for legs which i believe is where each exercise hits the most. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Squats and Deadlifts. Bully is the man when it comes to getting yourself started. Squats Deadlifts and Benches are the major compounds, when you do them right you can feel them working almost every part of your body. For example the squat, when you go down you feel it in your legs, but your keeping your back straight, while it's got a wight on it, this uses the muscles in the back, thus it works them, meanwhile your arms are holding the bar straight on the way down, again supporting the weight, thus working, and then they are also aiding in your push upwards. So it's got your core (stomach, sides etc) back, arms and legs in just one lift. Deadlift again, your back is the end of the lift, your legs drive you at the start and your core as well, and then your shoulders and traps to complete the lift. Then its working your arms as they are gripping the bar. THen bench press does your whole upper body over parts of the lift. The main advice seems to be do these three lifts as well as sme other compounds to fill out your routine when you're starting out to get the whole body growing. |

The other benefit is that these sort of compound lifts can help to actually boost hormones in your body which can have the effect that many other muscles in your body grow too, just from working these muscles - cool huh? ![]() :lift: | |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Squats and Deadlifts. My Routine is this: two Routines that i split as so: Monday A Wednesday B Friday A Monday B Wednesday A Friday B Split over 2 weeks and repeat A is: Squats, Benchpress and Military press (with Barbells) - with Pullups after Benchpress B is: Deadlifts, Barbell Rows, Pulldowns - with Dips after Rows. 5 sets x 5 reps on all the excersises I'm making good gains and the weights are going up. But there are thousands of different workouts people do on here. All about finding one that matches well with you. |
