Building wrists up...

May sound a bit of an odd question but is there a way to do it?

Mine are tiny & just skin & bone. I can get my hand around them easily.

Are there any exercises that will build them up a bit & if so what will hit them?

cheers
James

Re: Building wrists up...

i think to some extent wrists will thicken up as u get older and put on weight - i know mine are bigger now than when i was 20. there are no specific exercises for them as there is very little muscle in this area to build up. but i agree very much with the last post, if u build a well developed 16-17inch arm with ur small joints, that will be very impressive indeed. much more so than a 20 inch arm on a thicker set bloke with large wrists.

Re: Building wrists up...

I see what you are both saying but wouldnt it look dodgy with a 6" wrist, I measured it before?

Didnt think it would be able to but it was worth asking. Will try & build the forearms up & see if they get a little bit bigger but if not then, oh well.

I'm only 16 so they should still grow as I get older.

Re: Building wrists up...

no mate...it wouldn't look dodgy. its about proportion. if u wanna see how good big arms look with a small bone structure, look on the net for pics of flex wheeler a few years back. truly impressive!

i recently went to a show where one guy in the heavyweights was over 300lbs. he was disgusted at placing 2nd to a bloke who weighed 70lbs less. i think the judges got it spot on - about 100lbs of the big guy's mass was located in his midsection. the lighter guy won deservedly because of his proportions - wide lats tapering into a tight waist etc. i'm confident that not only will your wrists thicken up a bit over the next few years, but that you will come to see that not having a massive bone structure is a positive part of your physique

Re: Building wrists up...

Thanks for the positive input mate, I've got small wrists & quite a small waist. My hips are the widest bit & you can see the bone so there isnt much fat there lol.

Hopefully going to get training properly now though beacuase one of my mates has been training alot at the gym & I didnt realise so I'm starting to go with him as a training partner. Should be much better than when I used to go on my own.

Just seen a picture of flex & it does look good actually.

Thanks alot mate
