progress but craving food

Ok - been serious at gym for 8 weeks after a coupel of year sof playing and an injury

I am getting on at 47 and havent accepted am old.

In 8 weeks have
lost 1 1/2 " waist
gained 1 " chest
Gained 1 1/4" each bicep
lost 8 lbs

All happy with that but crave something sweet to eat occasionally - am using a self guilt trip to stop myself.

Fees empty abotu 1/2 hr after training . Tried dried fruit and always have protein shake but any suggestions what a can eat without gaining fat

Amquite strict on diet at present and feeling a little weak / low with it but hope to return to some more balance in next month

Re: progress but craving food

Congrats on the gains and losses mate. Craving something sweet happens to nearly all of us. I have a "cheat day" every Sunday when i get a proper sunday Dinner down my neck, and pig out on popcorns watching films with the kids in the evening...if you crave it, do it. Just in moderation. Otherwise you will get bored with the whole lifestyle mate!

Re: progress but craving food

Your doing great, paul TT,47years young,a bit of what you like wont kill you m8,youve made some very good rapid gains/loses.Step back look at the whole picture,I think you'll see you can have a little something sweet Now and then.Even the super bods on here do it im sure
ive seen this to be the down fall of many people who become obsesed with these gains/loses.they are hard to maintain, when they stop, they get in the dumps eat to much and the yoyo cycle begins. Ultimatly its a life style change .
well thats just my opinion, your doin great, keep it up

Re: progress but craving food

I would get protein and carbs in there in the form of a shake straight after training.

I know you think you are on a diet and should be limiting carbs but this is the one time you can take them in with no chance of fat storage. You need them to replenish the glycogen stores you have used during training and to ensure optimum growth, even when dieting.

Then consider eat a carb and protein meal an hour later..

50 grams of carbs PWO with 50g Whey and then a meal containing another 50g carbs and 50g of protein an hour later will not compromise your fat loss at all and should help control your cravings.
