Right arm developing faster than left

What's the best way to resolve this?

Say - for argument's sake - my right arm can dumbbell curl 20kg no problem, but my left is struggling with 17.5kg... to the point where I'm not satisfied I'm getting perfect technique/full range with my reps.

I've already settled on 17.5kg for both, but should I drop that down to 15kg and get perfect motion/technique with the left, at the expense of progress for the right?

I've been told to go to barbells, but that would seem worse in my mind, as the stronger arm would perhaps compensate for the weaker.

Should I drop down to the lower weight for both arms? It's gutting as my right is spot-on and wanting to go higher, but my left is lagging way behind.

Re: Right arm developing faster than left

Keep the same weight on both arms that you feel comfortable with.

You left arm will catch up soon enough.

Stick to DB's because as you said yourself a bar will it worse

Re: Right arm developing faster than left

Best bet is to start all your single arm exercises with your left and only match it for weight and reps on your right.
