Talking Work out music? Or just pure silence...

I can't stand my gyms music, its either magic FM, or some crappy garage/ R&B/hiphop station

Do you like music playing when hitting the iron?
Or just silence : )

Re: Work out music? Or just pure silence...

Mate if you think Magic FM is bad you should try the god awful Chinese love songs they have on in the gym I go to... although sometimes they are so bad I use them as aggression tools to make me work hard (you know, "why are they play this shiiiiii*" etc) But I have got myself a good small mp4 player that I have a gym compilation loaded onto... just have to get a good case to carry it in now...

Re: Work out music? Or just pure silence...

The music in my gym is played pretty loud so I don't think I could take my ipod and listen over it.

But sometimes the music playing in the gym is good, sometimes its awful.

Re: Work out music? Or just pure silence...

Well the music at my Gym is pretty shocking but thats down to that fact that the girls at the reception chose it and there 16 year old college girls so its mainly girls aloud, sugar tarts and what not :gun:.

I used to bring an MP3 player but it distratcted me.

When i get into a work out i tend to bloke everything out anyway concentrate on my form and effort rate and inbetween sets it gives me time to clear my head and analyse my life.

Re: Work out music? Or just pure silence...

My gyms music is proper gash.

Ipod fully loaded but I mainly listen to scooter, or if im trying to squuese out a few extra set of reps at the end of a work out nothing gets me going like a bit of slipknot.

Re: Work out music? Or just pure silence...

It's got to be heavy and hard.

Some music has good breakdowns which I usually use to get properly focused if it's a big lift, but I never get lifting until the music kicks in.

It's a massive, massive help for me to listen to something suitable.
