Need help with routine - New Gym member

Howdy all.

Well i've been goin to the gym on and off for 6 months now, i cant seem to work it into my routine at all.

After reading a little into the forums, it seems iv been goin about exercising all wrong. I've been sticking to the machines n just using the free weights every now and again.

I currently work nights, 22:00 - 06:00. I joined a gym that would be open early hours so that i could go after work (Esporta, Bradford).

The thing is, i sometimes cant motivate myself to go after a long night slaving away :/

I dont take any shakes or supplements, i know nothing about training or the diet i need which is one of the main reasons iv become a member of this forum.

Basically, i was hoping to get some advice from you guys on when you think i should work out, what i should eat/drink before i go to the gym (if any) and really any other info u have that i could use. I'm open to all suggestions, altho going to the gym after work between 06:30 - 10:00 would suit my lifestyle better. Maybe even some home exercises that could help me? Comon.. someone surely wants to use me as a guinnea pig! lol.

Thanks for your time guys, I'll be back later to see the replies

I don't know about the rest sorry, but I can give advice for the motivation. I use my computer a lot for work and play. So every week I change my computer password to a serial number of something in the gym, so I need to go to the gym to get my password :p

and when you're there... may as well exercise too :p

Re: Need help with routine - New Gym member

what is the use of going to the gym when you cant be ar5ed training when there?

I suggest you go straight to bed when you finish work and train in the afternoon.Have a decent feed when you wake(porridge or shredded wheat with a protein shake or eggs) and train 1.5 to 2 hrs later.

Post your current diet in the relevant section for advice
