sorting out my 3 day routine.

i have just got back into training properly.

im trying to get the perfect 3 day split (mon, wed, sat) so that each muscle group gets hit properly.

what would you suggest as the right muscle groups todo on each day.

Re: sorting out my 3 day routine.

i agree with the above. monday - back, get it done whilst you have the enthusiasm and strentgh. Wed - legs get that done and then have a nice break before sat - chest/tri and delts - excellent order IMO

Re: sorting out my 3 day routine.

I've tried mixing it around before but my reasoning is as follows:

Mon: Back & Bis - I much prefer deadlifting of an evening when I'm fully carbed up. I can't do deads within 3 days of doing legs as my hams haven't recovered yet. I only have one evening a week to get to the gym which falls on a Monday.

Wed: Legs & Abs
Hammies will still be aching from deads, but that doesn't really stop my leg exercises (I have strong legs and can squat more than I dead).
This is either first thing on a morning or lunch time.

I also use this day as a refeed / high carb day.

Sat: Chest, Tris and Shoulders
This is just after lunch time on Sat. Doesn't impact the rest of the workouts and allows me to have a Pre and Post workout nap, along with a good feed after my workout.

I'm no expert on such matters but its working for me.
