Back with a vengance

Hey guys

Ave just arrived back from a year of eating once/twice a day and drinking beer most nites of the week in Oz. Suprisingly I haven't put on much fat since when I was last home. However theres still more fat there than I would like so am gonna hit the gym big time!

Am thinking about weights 3 times a week and HIIT 2 times a week as my main objective is to lose the fat, but still put on a bitta muscle. Am only 5 ft 7" (approx 150lbs) and I dont really want to be short and stocky, just ripped and athletic. Do u think am shooting myself in the foot by doing both at the same time?

My diet is also a concern. Am now eating 6 small meals a day. Am eating clean but not measuring carb intake although am tryin to keep it low. My fat intake is low and protein intake probably about 80 grams per day.

What advice can you give me? - heres a pic of me now.

thanks a lot

Re: Back with a vengance

hi mate, good to see you are trying to better yourself.

Firstly the diet, Dont just look at low fat and low carbs. Good fats are essential for weight gain and loss. Given that you relaxed a little on your diet and habits in oz would say to me you have a high metabolism.

80g of protein? Mate, I have had more than that by 08.00 each morning! Thats way too low, is it a typing error?

Can you list what you have to eat (and the amounts) over a 24 hour period.

As for the training I personally agree with cardio and weights sessions being done. However, I would doe weights one day and cardio the next. Try not to do both on the same day.

Re: Back with a vengance

haha yeh mate, the protein intake would needa go up a lot...that wasn't a typo lol

this is wot ave had today so far...

Breakfast: large bowl porridge and half banana + cuppa tea
Brunch: couple slices of weaten bread + cuppa tea
Lunch: couple rounds of tuna & sweetcorn sandwiches + cuppa tea
Mid Day: low fat yoghurt
Dinner: large portion of white rice, chicken breast & sweetcorn
Later: peice fruit & cuppa tea

i like my tea lol.... but thats only today. ave ran outta protein shake which i usually have 3 of (2 scoops each). i drink couple pints of water a day (without tea in it lol).
