Mass Building

Im trying to bulk up at the minute and im unsure which way to go next. Ive been following a program of performing the main compounds like deadlifts, squats and bench. I understand that you should hit bodyparts from different angles and so im considering changing my routine a little, eg swap flat bench for incline bench.

Should i change my routine or should i stick to the main moves and bulk up first then worry about hitting bodyparts from different angles?

Re: Mass Building

If you post up your current routine, it would be easier to help fine-tune or even restructure it.

Often though, drastic changes are not needed. The finest details can make all the difference sometimes.

So if you will, post your current training schedule, including rest days please.

I take it you have your diet in order?

mate a good thing to do is walk into the gym with a different routine each day change things about a bit,it confuses the muscle and puts it under more stress, work all angles possible,if u stick to the same routine everyday the muscle just gets use to it,

Re: Mass Building

Hitting the muscle from all angles is a load of tosh on the whole IMO.

Train hard and heavy on basic compounds, with plenty of food and rest.

Hitting the muscle from all angles is ok once your 250 lbs and lean, then want to add the finishing touches to your physique.

First get the mass!! Then "shape" it if you wanna call it that.

Worry about your bicep peaks when ya arms are 18/19/20 inches.

Worry about the perfect balance in the 3 heads of your delts once you have boulder shoulders

Worry about the sweep in your thighs once they are 28/30 inches

You get the idea!!

i spose this is true to a recreational bber

but for a competetive one,,,its a whole different story,...

the delt seperation, quad sweep, and all the other "details" you mention...

ARE important on the stage,...whatever the measurement,...

these are the things that make themselves apparent at low fat levels and have nothing much to do with measurements.

these are the things which win classes,..overall balance amd a "pleasing look" can beat (and quite regularly do!)out and out size sometimes,...

in fact i seen it at the last two show i went to,...

i mean,..the idea of firstly gaining pure mass,..(which as we know takes years),...then fine tuning it all later as a seperate regime sounds like a great idea,.....

but imho i dont think a really practical one....

Yep fair comment bro.

But most are recreational trainers. Most crave size over asthetics, as im presuming this guy does as he wants to "bulk"
