![]() | "Come back whey your stronger" I have recently been following a training program where you simply "come back when you are stronger". I do one exercise per bodypart and do not return to the gym till i feel i can lift more than the previous session. This could mean only working a bodypart once every week or even every two weeks, which a lot of people claim isnt enough. I have made more gains in the last 2 months of using this type of training than i did the previous year of more frequent, less intensive training. Has anyone else tried this method of training and what are your views? |

Its an interesting theory and one Mentzer used to some degree, he wouldn't go back until he was 100% recovered, I train very hard and sometimes I feel 3 times per week is taxing, and I might add im only doing around 3-4 exercise max atm each session but working in the 3-5 rep range.. Its not lazy, its how intense and focused you are I believe, all the support **** like side laterals etc just extend recovery time if your trying to get stronger. Bottom line, I like it, Im glad its worked well for you bud.

| loving the bulk | Re: "Come back whey your stronger" dog crap training, its quite simialr to what you are doing i.e. week 1 for chest would be pressing, week 2 would be flys/ pec dec, its just training one excercise for one bodypart a week, with big rep and set ranges, a guy at my gym described it to me as i asked him what he was doing lol, and hes putting the pounds on fast, its taxing on the joints tho |

| aka Jimmy | Re: "Come back whey your stronger" Hes giving his body ample time off in which time he's growing and getting stronger, most ppl are back into the gym before their recovered, hampering their gains.

![]() | Re: "Come back whey your stronger" From what ive read when you lift a certain weight that your body isnt used to, your body responds by re-building the broken down muscles to bigger, more stronger muscles so that the weight lifted is easier to lift next time. So, by coming back once you have rested and built more muscle you have to lift more weight in order to build more muscle. Im not saying everyone should train this way or that you have to be stronger, im just saying ive tried it and it seems to be working for me so far and im interested in whether anyone else has tried training this way? |
