Morning weights / cardio

Now as i've leant from here 30-45mins cardio in the morning on an empty stomach is great for burning fat.

For doing weights in the morning, is it required to eat breakfast before doing them, or as with the cardio can weights be performed on an empty stomach followed by a good breakfast.

Just been wondering if i should eat before doing early morning workout, and if so how long should i wait after eating to start my workout.

thanks

Re: Morning weights / cardio

I trained at 5.45am this morning (yes, you read it correctly), so I had some whey & oats at 4.45am. After training I did 20 mins cardio (because I had to get to work).

So yes, make sure you eat before training weights, otherwise your session could be compromised.

and the risk of injury due to possibly collapsing as a result of low blood sugar.

Always take in some fuel prior to lifting weights.

Re: Morning weights / cardio

as long as glycogen levels and circadian rhythm support it, crack on time is not an issue IMO

Re: Morning weights / cardio

Agree with TT.

I only train around 6am because I have to travel to work & I start at 8am. I'd rather go in the morning than night when all the ego warriors are in force.

Thanks mate

It's funny, but I'm actually adapted to the routine now. I wouldn't have it any other way.
