![]() | Hi, Complete Beginner Here ! Hi, well let me start with introduction myself. I am an 18 year old male, that is overweight and want to loose it all and gain some good muscle, I dont want to go overboard(the way i see it, with a very large chest and really large arms that I would be able to compete or anything, nuthing of that sort), just have a nice muscle and toned up body. Last time I was weighed was bout 2 months ago before the scales batts went flat(stupiid thing, hard finding batteries for it, will get some soon)), I was in the overweight/plump range(thankfully out of the obese range) in terms of weight. I definately think I have lost more weight since then, because I have started a summer job as packing/lifting various weight boxes in large quantities. Right so on with my questions... Should I focus on loosing all my excess weight before starting to bodybuild ? or could both be done at the same time ? Should I join a gym because there is a much larger range of equipment for use ? or could i get by for the start with some basic equipment I have at home ? I do have a rowing machine gathering dust, its hard breaking old lazyness habbits, but i think its definately time for a big change in my lifestyle. Aswell as the rower, I have a bicycle too. I have yet to read most of the stickied threads, but will get round to them soon....,, what I would like in muscle terms is 6 pack:biggrin1: good arm muscles and toned up. I dont really know all the terms and definitions to describe things, but I spose all of it will come in time. In terms of eating/diets, I think i can manage them from what I have read in the threads so far. I would like to go the natural way, and not add in protien suppliements and power shakes whatever they called(unless maybe the shakes do considerable help in the muslce building stage, then maybe), sticking with foods that are avalaible to help me do so is good, Im sure you guys could help with what the natural way entails. What sort of training times/periods and how many days would be needed ? Ok, cant think of any more questions yet, will most likely have plenty more.. Thanks for any help, Nizmosa |

One general word of warning - you must mentally prepare yourself for a major lifestyle change, accept that if you want to achieve your goals that lots must change (drinking, eating sh1te, bad sleep patterns will all hinder your efforts). Your diet is just as (if not more) important than your training. Read the threads Tom has pointed out above and then ask some more specific questions.
