![]() ![]() | girl in need of a foundation routine! Hi All, I am certain that you can help me. I have read a lot of info on this site so far and am loving it, but............. am am kindo over informed. could anyone help me with a real good solid foundation programme? Let me give you some background. I have been training for around 8 years but only kinda messing about in the gym, listening to too many people who clain to know everything and being frightened out of my life about steroids. I would really like to gain some lean muscle. I am 5'7" and weigh in at 9st 5lbs. I eat healthy and train frequently so I am pretty healthy and fit, but (and it's quite a big butt) I know that i am not eating right or training right for what I want to acheive - basically wanna look well 'ard! lol! anyhow. I have had a few breaks in my training due to illness and basic life hassle but am now determined to let nothing and no-one stop me. So, If anyone could pass on a basic routine to start on and build a good foundation, i would be most grateful. I am fully aware that i will not get results over night and there is no magic formula other than good honest hard work, so i'm not easily frightened. Thanks in advance guys. JB

You can find it at astss.co.uk go to the MaxOT link. It is a week by week programme for 12 weeks, it explains all the exercises and recommends diet and supplements as you go along. The exercises are exactly what we would prescribe here, compound and heavy to build maximum muscle. I recommend it because I do it myself and love it! SD

I know now that you mean well and looking over your previous posts, you are trying to be the funny guy, thats great, humour is fantastic and good for the soul, however, as a forum member you are new here and the people you are being 'witty' with such as Jane Bond here sometimes are new also. As such they may not understand your particular brand of wit and may leave disheartened as a result, perhaps regarding us as the male biggot bodybuilder types the public regard generally regards us as or at least unhelpful. All I am saying is, get to know us better before being the funny guy, and allow us to get to know you, you are humourus and can even make this miserable old git smile, but moderate it mate eh? at least for a while. Cheers SD

Just remember that by not eating you won't loose fat as quickly as if u ate smaller meals regularly. keep the fire burning. and do some cardio in the morning to give u a kickstart... this is where i struggle as i can't get my **** out of bed in the mornings. |

Well, i'm no expect, but from what i've read on this site, it gets your body burning again. I'm not sure on eating but i think just after would be good as your body will burn it up straight away. |

![]() ![]() | Re: girl in need of a foundation routine! well i know that different foods take different times to process through your body (GI and all that) so i normally stick with mostly carbs and a little protien around 2 hours before training. But I have also heard that is you want to keep your fat percentage down, you should not eat for at least an hour after training because your body is in its most effecient energy saving mode ie - storing food as fat for a rainy day. Any clarification on this theory? and..... is it best to have most of your carbs early in the day because of slowing metabolic rate? aarrrrrgh - i am sooooooooo confooosed! lol

No, if you want to burn straight into the fat reserves then its thought the best thing to do is morning cardio upon waking, so you have no muscle glycogen etc to go through, you cut straight into the fat. (apparently 3 times more efficient - apparently) About eating over 1 hour after training - BS...if you dont have a protein filled meal within 1 hour of training you risk losing muscle tissue and going catabolic. |
