Re: free personal training!

hi mate i'm just waiting results from my reps level 3 exam. have you found yourself a gym to train people out of? If so how have you been getting your clients? Or are you training people at their homes? Just interested as i'm deciding what to do for when my exam results come in.

Re: free personal training!

you've got two options there really mate.
1. set yourself up as a freelance personal trainer, which obviously means going self-employed, or
2. work for a gym as a fitness instructor and scout your clients from there.

i got qualified from Premier this time last year and have been working in a gym since, which for me was the best move as its increased my confidence ten fold. i now have 9 regular clients and a couple of classes, (i didnt advertise for any of them, as soon as i got the first one, others see you training them and become inquisitive!)
best of luck w/your exam results though fella.

Re: free personal training!

i passed about 2 months ago and been workng in ff in btol since, i have about 3 clients but you must rememerb you get some that just have a couple of weeks then go etc, its hard to get clients and the gym does very little to help you and the other trainers will **** on you given half a chance! a little tip is mate if anyone asks you where you worked before say youve been working free lance for years! otherwise people will be put off being trained by you becasue your a newb lol

Re: free personal training!

yeah i heard fitness first was a bit like that. I did work for la fitness and they did very little to help as well. other trainers were nice to be fair though but there were 6 there and they all had lots of clients which left none for me lol!

well the plan is to train peeps 1 2 1 from a small comercial property who are are to body conscious to go to a gym.
really really do not want to work in a poncy shiny gym for years trying to build up a client base.
i`m doing the freebies to learn how give advice verbally rather than online and basically to aquire a client base albeit a free one.
i`m hoping when they start getting results i can aquire some rep and then get some paid referrals.
when i`m ready to go legit and actually move into a commercial property i`m going to invest heavily in some advertising-not just the usual yellow pages, but local radio too.
i will be getting qualified of course, but i`m not planning on adding a further string of letters to my name-
it doesnt interest me(of course unless it becomes a neccessity)

i want my results to speak for themselves.

thanks for the interest dudes

Re: free personal training!

A couple of my mates are doing Professional Boxing PT (who I train with about once a week). Its no use having a load of muscles if cant have a tear up! Some of the big guys who think they are hard because they are very big get absolutely smashed, one guy 10 stone battered a guy of 20 stone, double his weight!!! If anyone wants PT in North London PM me and I can give you my friends details!
