![]() | Legs first thing in the AM - diet advice pls Traditionally, I train after work, so around 7-8pm.. however, my next session (legs) is scheduled for saturday and because my wife tells me we are driving to scotland at 12 midday sharp, I will be forced to train legs between 10-11am problem is... when I train in the evening I'm pretty 'carbed-up' from oats, pasta, wholemeal bread eaten in earlier meals, but with a morning workout, how can I be sure to get adequate nutrition to prepare me for a heavy session? Normal breakfast is a scoop of whey in water, then 40 mins later 6 scrambled eggs (only one yolk!) and either 4 slices wholemeal/ grain toast or 4oz porridge with milk, plus a multivit/multimineral my normal pre-workout shake is about 50g readybrek, 30g whey, 1tbsp peanut butter in water I guess my normal pre-workout MRP in place of breakfast should do the job- - any comments anyone?

Oats & a shake should do the trick. I too have had to train at 6.30am or 7.00am twice this week due to personal commitments etc, but it's fine.

You'll also benefit from Test and GH levels being higher in the morning. I know some people that just have some BCAAs and a small amount of whey before. The lack of carbs will mean that fat burning is promoted due to low glycogen stores. Just make sure you WARM UP correctly. Training legs in the am can cause problems with joints ie knees and lower back.
