![]() | Re: Front Squats Im sure thay hit your quads more, start off with a bench behind you, when your going down and just touch it with your as$ ,then power up, then when your cool with going back far enough you can take it away, i know i toppled over the first time i did them. I just have to make sure i keep my back at 45 or i get lower back pain. Hope this makes sense lol

![]() | Re: Front Squats Front Squats really hi the quads very intensely, as you say it is bery hard to do them the first time, what helps for me doing them is to either place a towel around the bar, or use a spongy pad around the bar. You are best to cross your arms and place the weight on the front of your shoulders, the Bench behind you idea is a great one, you could start off with a high bench then after a couple of weeks start to lower the height, in know time at all you will be usinga repectable weight with good Technique. Also you could practice sitting on ther Bench for say 2-3 Seconds to take any mometum out of the Movement like Westside Bench Squats, then power the weight up, this will get you used to holding the weight in this Position, and give you confidence to go heavier, again start off with a very light weight and concentrate on technique. I have been doing Front Squats to a Parrallel bench for the last 4 Weeks and I feel much stronger, I done 200KG for 1 Rep last week to a parrallel bench, this will carry over big time to your back squat. All you have to do is look at some Olypmic weightlifters legs to see the beneits of front squats, also some OL lifters probably have the biggest Raw back squats in the world as well. Hope that this helps. |
