squating advice needed

Im currently only able to train at home due to work commitments and need sum advice on squating as using the barbell is getting a bit dangerous whilst training on my own.
Ive been using dumbells, is there any good techniques i could use to get the best results from just using dumbells?

cheers!!

Re: squating advice needed

Try pre-exhausting your legs with sissy squats 1st, or do what i do if your backs ok, load up a bar and grab it behind your legs, your limited to the weight you can use as your grip goes, sort of a hybrid deadlift squat thing, ive got a bad back so i cant really do this any more, bulldoozer suggested i got a trap bar and did squats with that, i just need to make a nes squat rack i think. Have you tryed weighted frog jumps straight after your d/b squats? you look funny but if you train at home like me i doesnt matter lol, got loads of home training routines if you need any.

Re: squating advice needed

I've suggested this before on here, get yourself a big stability ball (they're cheap & very useful), put it in the small of your back in between you & a wall, then do hack squats with dumb bells. You'll be surprised how little weight you need to make it nasty, especially if you go really slow on the eccentric & the concentric.
