ADVICE for female please

can my gf do a good workout only 2 days per week?

She wants to start training and can only fit it in on her 2days off,her goals are fat loss mainly and tone muscles.

what routine would she have to do to achive good gains?

Thanks for any advice given

Re: ADVICE for female please

2 times per week is plenty for toning and to quote another member, Hacksii "Diet is they key to fat loss". I'm sure if you look out for him or pscarb they should be able to help you out with a good diet.

Re: ADVICE for female please

People who start training often have fantastic gains. The key is intensity, no point in going in the gym and waving pink weights around like she is arranging flowers.

After she has proper form down, hit it hard.

Full body routine, compound exercises, back to basics, old school training. With the right intensity, don't even need to do that many exercises, she could be done training in 45 min, 20 -30 min of cardio,

Re: ADVICE for female please

With fat loss you cant really choose where you lose it, thats why BIG exercises that involve a lot of body parts are best..stone in water effect i think its called.

As for the diet, she probably just needs to be cutting down on some fats a lil and drop some cals - to be in a catabolic state...

BUMP for someone with better knowledge on diet!

Re: ADVICE for female please

agreed - i aint no diet expert but if she's got a fixed diet now and her weight is stable then try reducing the daily caloric intake by 500 and see how she goes with that.. dont want to make a drastic change as weight loss too quick can also be bad IMO.

um, T covered the training part

agreeing with ah24 that reducing the caloric intake will help to promote fat loss but there are other factors she could aim for:
1) when doing cardio, try to mantain a heart rate of about 60% bpm (optimal heart rate for fat loss)

2) avoid sugary foods am/pm which can tell ur body to hold onto fat (maybe not avoid completely but reduce)

3) a nice early morning jog (first thing)

4) reduce daily caloric intake by 500cals and if after a 2weeks you dont see weight loss, reduce by further 500.

Theres much more that can be done but without being drastic about things.. i'd say thats a nice easy plan to follow

goodluck
