Re: Pecs

As warrior said. To develop your chest, a routine based around Flat Bench, Incline Bench and Dips wouldn't be far off. Flyes, imo, are a shaping exercise. Don't bother with the pec deck.

Re: Pecs

There are loads of routines you can find on the board. Have a look and I'm sure you'll find a good one.

incline barbell bench 3x6
weighted dip 3x6
incline dumbell press 2x12
1x20 cable flies

Any reason for avoiding flat bench?

Re: Pecs

I also like the 20 rep Cable Flies, DB, I get a satisfying ache/pump after them, and occasionally like to finish off a session with them.

Re: Pecs

i would suggest not always starting with flat bench. try some incline dumbells first or if you are really sadistic do your dips first. i find my shoulders tire before my chest so i always mix my routine about

Re: Pecs

i wouldnt go further than parallel. some would disagree but its easy to injure yourself by over stretching

Re: Pecs

Very true Micky - dips are very hard on your shoulders. Personally, I like to go deep, but that isn't for everyone. I'd stick with Micky and say parallel until you know your body. If you see gains from going parallel then stick with it.
