Alcohol...

Is having a few pints such a bad thing when training??

I dont mean pre-contest training were you count the calories in oxygen but general training???

I training hard 5-6 time a week and usually have a few pints on a weekend, nothing crazy that can be classed a binge drinking.

I know that lager is high in calories but is it so detremental to training?

Alcohol is just empty calories, reduces test levels, dehydrates you and strips vitamins and minerals from your body. So no, it's not ideal lol!

But then, there's no point in living if you're not going to do some enjoyable things. So if it pleases you to have a few pints at the weekend, IMO go for it.

Yah, weekends would be ok but I cant diet down drinking regularly, It just wont happen, all the cardio in the world doesnt seem to help.

if you want a drink have one most things in life are ok in mod imo.when you look at it everything these days is bad for you lol.sometimes when i go to shows(to watch!)lol,i see big guys with great bodys having a pint the first time i sore this i was gob-smacked,but i supose thats when they let thier hair down and enjoy the day we tend to cut a lot of things out of our life for periods of time so on special occasions and now and again its ok imo,its just when you get ratted its not all that good i think it takes alot out of bodybuilders more becoz where used to havin vitamins in our body and not going long inbetween meals.when i used to wake up after a mad night i wouldnt eat for the day its just a set back after a lot of hard work a pint here and there is fine mate.

i suppose as long as you train hard and maintain a clean diet a few pints cant be bad.

Alcohol helps regulate cholesterol levels

However it does supress GH production and whilst alcohol is in the system you wont use any other source of fuel - so you'll store most of your carbs proteins and fats as fats. Its the bodies favourite source of fuel.

Oh and binge drinking, deemed detrimental to your health is having half the weeks units at once - 10 units/ 5 pints. Its not difficult....

dpends on the person realy. if your diet is good, and u drink plenty of water the next day you should be fine. i go out drinking and get absaulte ratted and still maintain a good body, visable abs etc.

A cheat meal a week is usually recommended, so a few cheat pints will probably not hurt either.

It lowers testosterone levels in men.
It is the prefered fuel when taken in and fat loss stops.

But what the hell, I work many hours, go to the gym once or twice a day and if I want to go to a bar and have some booze and pick up unsuspecting chicks on cycle that is fair play
And some of you will think I am just kidding...............Doh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanna take tat out for a few.
