taking a weeks break

It's been a few weeks now since I've been carrying out my new routine, and I feel like I need to take a week off from the weights. However, is it ok to carry on doing cardio? Also, will my muscles waste away? If so, what can I do to prevent this?

Should I change my diet now because I am not doing any weights for the week?

Cheers.

No, your muscles will not waste away with a week off. In fact, assuming you've loaded up correctly with your training, a week off will probably do you some good.

Keep your diet good, eat plenty of protein and you'll be fine.

i take a week break at least once every 2 months or so and i find that u'll be fully recovered (more or less) by the time u hit the gym after the break.

doing cardio is no bad thing lifting weights or not. it'll increase your metabolism. as for diet eat enough protein and depending on if ur bulking or cutting adjust the carbs/fats accordingly. as long as u keep up the protein u won't loose muslce mass in that short period of time

thanks a lot for the advice! I so needed this week off too, my last session at the gym was on Friday and it was a total disaster. I couldn't work with the weights I was previously using in my last session and I couldn't even get the reps, I don't know whether it was because of the heat or what; Hopefully, I'll be fine in a week.

Nice1
