Diet on non-training days?

Should this be pretty much the same as your diet on training days in terms of the amount of calories you take in and the % of F/C/P?

The problem is, I have a background in distance running so therefore have a mindset where I dont want to increase weight. With running, I have great confidence in my ability to control my weight and know what to eat (and how much of it) to make weight adjustments / improve performance / prevent or recover from injury etc.

Therefore, this mindset hardly lends itself to muscle building. Should I be eating just as much on non-weight training days, with it all promoting growth, or should I make adjustments to prevent putting on unwanted flab?

Bear in mind this is a theoretical question, as I am still putting together an eating plan which I will post later.

Thanks.

I agree with Hackskii. I'm coming to the conclusion that the body uses the diet on off days to prepare itself for the training days, just like it stores for the growth spurts of children before their growth spurts.

I find if I fudge on my non training days, my training days are not as strong and as effective as if I eat healthy on the non training days.
I do minimize calories though by eating more slow carb vegies. But every day I eat 500 calories less than I need. (try to at least .. some times I fall off the wagon, but I do get back on. ) On my training day I will burn up more calories so I will loose flab but not muscle. At least that is my plan. Slowly but surely. Thanks Hacks for the 500 deficit idea.

I have a curry for tea on non training days as a kind of refeed/cheat because I eat super clean through the week.

I like curries. Yummy yum yum.

And no I don't make it myself I go to the local indian takeaway. And I drive there even though its only 5 minutes walk.

LMAO
