| Progressing | Aye ^^^ When benching, form is everything. Keep your shoulders/head pinned back, Feet firmly planted on the ground, and exaggerate the arch in your back. This will really help to bring as much of your chest as possible into the movement. If you deviate from the above, you run the risk of incorporating other muscles that are not needed, or worse experiencing little hiccups that you're talking about in your OP. Good luck. |

| Progressing | The arch is just a slight exaggeration, UNC ... I forgot to mention to keep your butt firmly planted on the bench as well. Just keep your chest high, shoulders back/head down/feet planted and you're good to go ... If you do this, the exaggeration will be there in your back, anyways.
