![]() | I'm also new to weight training, I've been doing it for a few weeks. You'll need more than two months. To make a success of it you will need to make it a part of your life, workouts, diet, no late nights or booze. I'm lucky in the last respect because I detest alcohol. Buy some weights, read these forums for advice about diet and find a workout routine that works for you and fits into your schedule once you go back to college. |

I was not aware of it being so in the states as alot of it is imported from there? Wiseguy has it in a nutsell. Train basic and heavy. Eat well, clean and frequent. Unfortunately if you trained each body part once per week and you only intend to train for two months then you will only do 8 chest, arm or legs workouts. Matre, that wont be enough if you are a complete noob. Why not stick to the training when you return to school/uni and take it serious over a longer time! Rome was not built in a day!!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | You don't Creatine need just yet, you've not even started lifting. It probably would help, but first of all get the diet in check, get your workout planned and train to get good form before trying to throw huge weights around. Whey protein is the supplement you'll probably need more than anything. Cod liver oil, Flax Seed Oil and multi-vitamins are some others which are good. The diet is sometimes harder to get right than training. Something like this might help: A nice big bowl of oats in the morning with a banana. Whey protein at 11am. Tuna/chicken w/veg at say 2ish. Chicken/fish/steak at 5ish with some carbs (jacket spud, brown rice etc...) Train then a PWO whey shake with some carbs (oats or just glucose in your protein shake). Have a little bit of something to eat before bed time to help you recover while you sleep. More you eat bigger you'll get. Small portions though otherwise it'll just get stored as fat! |

| Progressing | Check out the stickies my friend. You want to know what to do all from the very beginning ... It would take me quite some time, and a very large post to spell it all out for you ![]() The stickies have some great information in them, and I really think they would help to answer a lot of your questions. |

| On a Quest!! | all i can say mate is lift HEAVY and lift using correct form its mind over matter as harvey says "if you dont mind it dont matter !" cheesey i know but he's right look at the weights, choose what you think you can manage and go up 1 you'll suprise yourself! good luck |

| IF YOU BUILD IT.....THEY WILL COME! | why choose one above the one you think you can manage? thats not ideal mate pick a weight you are comfortable with and you can do 8 strict reps with if you cant keep good form then drop the weight dont let your ego pick the weight for you! from day one you want to be adding weight each time you train the same muscle even by 1-2 kilo, by doing this your muscles wont get used to a certain weight and they will have to adapt to the icrease thus making you stronger thus making you grow!! try and eat a good balanced meal every 2-3 hours so you have a constant source of energy to be able to fuel your workouts get yourself a decent protien powder to take as soon as you open your eyes and again as soon as you put the weight down from your last rep! you could add a fast acting carb to this also like dextrose or a slower carb like oats these also act as a bulker just blend them and put them in your drink! if your gonna get some mags to read up with i would suggest the ones with amateur bb'ing these tend to keep things real and not go off on one with their super workouts! BEEF mag is good mate infact some of the members on this board have graced their pages dont expect huge changes straight away mate but just keep it consistant and to good form with a good diet and youll grow like a weed..though you probably wont notice the changes there will deffo be some!!! good luck!

Zig, unlucky with the sprained ankle mate, just rest it up and it'll be better in no time, then get into the weights/diet. You aint gonna get massive overnight anyway so a couple of extra days before starting makes no difference.
