![]() | IMO i dont think there is any cut-off age whereby hard work and proper diet/nutrition/supplementation wont help your situation. Im 31 and I have been in and out of the gym for years. When Im fed up of my beer belly and I think the ladies aint looking at me anymore, Im back in the gym working hard. Granted now, I tend to subcribe to a better body through chemicals, it still the hard work thats going to get you where you want to be.

I am also a diabetic so my diet is very important, i am carefull in what i eat and have to lay off the sugars etc. Like you say hard work and you will get there, I just wasnt to sure if its a sport that you can start. |

![]() | Fair enuff, Jerry. So you have one less obstacle to get over. Your diet is pretty much taken care of. So now comes the mental aspect of it.

Fish oils will also help you with insulin resistance. Many people feel that strenght peak is around mid 30's so you are right there.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A few tidbits for thought. You lose lean muscle as you get older. Aromatase increases when you get older (higher estrogen for men). SHBG raises when you get older (Less free test). GH production lowers as you get older (GH is considered an anti-aging hormone). Those are just some of the hormones involved that get lower, others include DHEA, IGF-1 and some others too. When you do anarobic workouts your GH, test, IGF-1, all increase. This is a good thing to aid in fat loss, increase lean muscle, better testosterone levels, and for a man that is better sex drive, less lethargy, healthier bones, skin, less insulin resistance (which is a very good thing). All these things are associated with just resistance training (intensity specific). So, if that was not enough, in times of stress your muscles are used for glutimine to aid in the immune system, the older you get the less muscle stores you have and the less muscle stores you have the less glutamine the body has availability for. Not good if you are fighting off a disease. So, go to the gym, enjoy the fruits of rewards from your persuit of getting healthier and know you are fighing against the aging process in the mean time. Its all good.

Check out some of the masters on a few of the BBing websites. You will be surprised. I was given this newpaper cutting of a 70 year old BBers I will SCAN (I think my new fancy printer does that) and post. He looks AMAZING! x x x T |
