Martial Arts on training days?

It just so happens that the two days where I have afternoon off work (Tues & Thurs) are the two days I go martial arts class... Tuesday I go to Wing Chun and Thursday I go the Mixed Martial Arts class.

Is this a bad idea?

It shouldnt be

whats time between gym and Ma sessions

You may feel (or get) a little more tired than the others, but aslong as rest periods are good (days between training) things should be fine

The MMA class might be a bit tougher as muscles will be morer tired

No problems then, the earlier the better for the gym IMO....more rest before the MAs

when i was 18 i used to do wing chun 3 times per week (sifu simon lau) and managed to train weights in the gym at least the same amount of times

I think it all depends on how intense your martial arts classes are.

I know for a fact when i would do intense ninjitsu classes incorparated on the same day as my very intense training days it would slightly effect my gains - And i wouldnt call myself a hardgainer either.

Just airing slightly on the side of caution if your training levels are very intense. If not... Train harder.

i can see your goals are weight gain "Inch High
5'5" - 8st 2lbs - trying to make 10st"

intense martial arts sessions and weight gain do not go very well together

they burn LOTS of calories and unless your a VERY big eater gaining weight in those situations is pretty tough.

I know mate, but it's for my MMA that I'm trying to put on weight in the first place!

As long as you supply your body with some good carbs and protein after the workouts and mma, you`ll be fine. Your body will adapt to the stresses in the long run and then the gains will be nice and lean..

Shoot for a 50/50 split of carbs and protein in your post workout drink and go for an extra 1000-1600 cals total for the two drinks on your training days only
