| bashing the bishop | i would say that you would gain muscle but you would be burnt out within a couple of months. it is very easy to overtrain. you will gain more muscle by limiting your weight training to one hour or less three times a week. the freaks you see in the magazines are juiced up to the nines on steroids and they can handle lots of training. you grow when you are out of the gym you lay the foundations to grow inside the gym. hard training is only part of the equation. rest+good nutrition+good training=big muscles.

| bashing the bishop | that seems to be overkill for the chest. how about- monday-back and biceps wednesday-legs friday-chest and triceps or if your arms recover quickly try this monday-back and triceps wednesday-legs friday-chest and biceps

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | i think thats too much you might be able to get away with 5 days if your split was right but i still think its too much, rest is equally if not more important than training. And as for the 2 hour workout, your either not training heavy enough or with the desired intensity. Personally i think if your in there more than an 45mins to an hour i think your socialising, that said i do think you could workout for 45 and then do 20-30mins cardio, still keeping you down to just over an hour. Heres what im doing just now, im sure the person who gave me it wont mind me putting it up too much, if you do mate , i m sorry. mon back traps rear delts calves tue chest triceps wed delts front/side biceps thur quads hams abs as required fri/sat/sun off

Most people don't gain on that type of routine at all and are better served with less volume, higher intensity and more rest. Some people can cope with it of course, but it's highly unusual. But give it a try and see if you want, and let us know how you get on (or not) lol. Certainly if you're able to work out 5 days a week for 2 hours a day, you can't be pushing yourself very hard when you're in there.
