![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dunno much about Macs, but don't the majority of people have normal PC's running windows based software? Dell are really cheap, I have one and I know loads of people who have and have no problems - if you do find free supps, let us know!

There are other advatages too, they are very very maintainance free, you dont get hit with spyware, adware trojans, virus or any other type of ****e that comes with using a windows based machine, you say you'd like your kids to learn on your computer, this is where a mac is not for everybody, it's a fact that the massive majority of computing out there is windows/microsoft based and this is the basis of many a school curiculum, the chances of your kids learning computing on anything other than a windows based pc are very slim... as much of a huge fan of apple and the mac OS i am i'd stick with a windows based pc if I were you, just make sure you have a decent forwall and anti virus installed ... :rolleye11 As mark says del's are very good, I have a dell laptop that I 'have' to use for work and its fine, you'd be hard pushed to find better although acer are worth a look... oops rambled a bit, sorry.

I really do like the look of the macs so might just bite the bullet and get one..... Also which computers would you recommend that are compact and easy to hideaway as the one I have at the moment is very bulky and noisey taking up a lot of space.. Do you have an answer for my 1st question and know where I can get a program to convert pdf to word document as I have one to convert word to pdf but need to alter some stuff I have done. Cheers everybody for the help.

Get a trial download of a pdf converter here - http://www.soft32.com/download_11455.html not sure what the ristriction is, do a google for 'pdf converter' there are loads of apps that do it, mostly cost a small fee, but most offer try before you buy. cnp (Dorian yates approved) do samples i think - http://www.cnpltd.com pm me if you want my mail adress for mor advice on the mac... widgets are small programs that run on an application called dashboard that is always running in the background, you move the mouse to a 'hot corner' and the screnn clears to reveal all the small wigets, weather, flight trackrs, reto arcade games my fave, 1000's of em available..
