| The Italian Stallion | Ok so the title sounds funny but it really hurts. Never had any problems with my hands before but I have gone up on all my weights of late and my hands are really hurting in the knuckles. It's after I let go of the bars I can't open my hands fully and it hurts. I have to pull my fingers back to regain full movement in them. Should I think about wearing gloves? My hands are big and I do find holding on to the small bas used in the free weights tuff going. Or should I be thinking about going to see the Doc?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've been killed with pins and needles in my hands, I ride bikes too, or I do when the pins and needles arent too bad. I've been to a chiropracter and a physio, one to realign me and one to ease off all the muscular pain from my spine being put back in the shape it should be. Its getting better but not gone completely so I've been to my GP who referred me to the hospital for tests which I am still undergoing. For me it could be "carpal tunnell syndrome" which a lot of Moto GP riders get too, as do a lot of bodybuilders, especially those who use growth hormone. There's an op which can totally cure it but I think it lessens the feeling in the hand, as long as I can train and ride my bike I'm not to fussed about less feeling, well untill my Mrs gets her tits done! If its not pins and needles Luke get some Joint/tendon support formula, Holland and Barrrat that should help.

| The Italian Stallion | Nope no gear, and I'm taking cod-liver oil. It does not feel like the joints though, feels more like the tendons or something. If I stretch my hand out using the other hand then I can get full movement back in to the hand but it hurts still... I think I might just need to use gloves

![]() | I have exactly the same problem. After doing a set of say shrugs or rows and let go of the bar my fingers wont straighten and I have to push them against something to straighten them. Also I loose circulation in my hands when I sleep so that when I wake up I cant move my hands at all and have to hang them over the side of the bed to let some blood run back into them and when it does they sting and I get bad pins and needles. I don't think gloves will make any difference mate. You could try some finger extensions with a rubber band that helped me a bit because of all the gripping we do in the gym and most dont do and extensions for the fingers. Loop a rubber band around your fingers and thumb then straighten them out. Also you could try using straps if your grip is causing you to end the set early.

It alwasy rushs though my mind when I have got a big weight above my head......if I droped that it would really hurt lol ![]()
