went to a gym in a different area - UK-Muscle Body Building Community

well friday last week my normal gym was closed, so i went to another gym in the next suburb across.

it was a good experience, as it added insight into how other people train & their techniques.
but i what i couldn't get over was what small weights they were using. guys heaps bigger than me were only doing 40kg on the bench, whereas i started at 60kg & went up to 70kg (no spotter) - i only weigh 75kg, so is good for me.

i don't know if it is just me or if some of you guys are like this ... but being new to that gym i felt that i had to prove something to the regulars there. with almost all my weights i went heavier than usual & also had less recovery time between sets ... this set me up for a very intense workout.

when i walked out of that gym i was certainly very happy with my workout & hell exhausted as well.

Usually in a new gym I train a little lighter than usual, but with super strict form (its still heavier than a lot of guys )......usually have a good workout though

I tend to train poorly in a new environmnt.

Its good for the mind and the body to mix it up at different gyms, i usually do a couple days at another gym once a month. Prefer if i could take month about at differnt gyms but there arent any in my area who allow it, im stuck in onemain gym cos of the membership(and im skint)

i think an unfamiliar enviroment the and the feeling of being watched does push you a little to keep form strict !

nowt worse than making a tit of yourself in front of strangers !

If you are passing Mandurah, try the Gym there, it's on the main drag and is the nut's, some if the best kit I've used.
