Dammit, lost another friend.

Last Thursday I had a friend from work die.
I talked to him that afternoon and a short time later he died of a heart attack.
I remember the conversation, what he was wearing and everything explicitly.
He was my age @ 45 and a family man that didnt smoke, drink, or do anything (he didnt lift either).
He left behind 2 teenagers.
He died watching his daughter run in a track meet.

No today 1 week later, I lost another friend to a heart attack at work he was in his 50s and died after they started to give him bypass surgery.
His heart was weak from being diabetic.

Saddest part was his brother used to be my Boss at work here. I e-mailed him and asked him about his brother (I heard he was in the hospital).
His brother e-mailed me back and asked what I heard that he had not talked to him in a couple of years.
After I told him what I heard at work he made some calls then e-mailed me back that his brother died.

Now, I dont know what happened between them but now he can never talk to him again.
I feel bad as I was the one who alearted him about his own brother, not his family.
He made a comment in the e-mail that he loved his brother and now I feel that there is some guilt going on.

Guys, life is too short not to live.
As you get older, you will lose many friends.
When you are young you feel immune from death.
But death can happen in any given moment.

Take the time to complimant someone, smile at them, or just tell someone that you love them.
This might be your last chance to do that.
Who knows you just might feel a little less guilt if something was to happen.

Sorry for sounding sentimental but I am right now.

You guys are a great bunch of guys, just thought I would throw that out there in case one of you might have forgotten.

i know what you mean man, being touched by death somehow is a reminder of how fragile life really is and always makes me that bit more humble , caring and less of the b*stard i can be at times. sometimes i have dreams about people close to me dying or me dying and some of them feel like premonitions which really scares me so you've gotta really hold onto the best people in your life and make sure you appreciate them while you can. i recently broke up with a really close long time friend over something which seems a bit trivial now and makes me want to call her, but she has some real problems and i dont know if i can help her and be there for her especially since last week she called me up crying and upset and i was fairly cold to her. i can just be so emotionally detached at times but now i think, if she died tomorrow how would i feel.

Wow guys, I am really touched.
This thing really grabbed me by the shorts.
I had tears in my eyes at work and actually left early from work.
This had my brain scrambled with many questions in my mind, none which can be answered.
I accept this as a part of life.

Man, I am so thankfull to be alive, have such a great family, job, health, etc....

Even if I did not have these things, to be alive is still a gift, one which I can't give to myself but I can give of myself to others.

Mate, if your mrs gives you earache just tell her to mind her own fcukin business.....
What I did was do gear for 6 months then said to my mrs I was thinking of trying them. She said well, they'll make you all more aggressive, d1ck small etc etc, the usual and I replied I'd been on them 6 months to which she said, oh well then, no worries...

Nice post Hacks, condolences to the family.

Its very sobering

Just learnt this week that a young girl at the school where my wife works has only a few more days to live, after a brave and long fight with a rare form of cancer (she is only 6)

Hey hack, im sorry to hear that. I hope your ok though...
Ive lost people very close to me unexpectedly and your right, you dont realise how important people are until thier gone.

The only thing good to have come out of it is that me and ALL my family are a lot closer now. I tell my mum and dad i love them all the time and even my brother, who is 17 and even he tells me (and texts me when he is drunk to tell me, Bless!!).

I cant imagine my life without any of them and it really scares me that oneday that will happen....
