I was using my birds PC yesterday when I noticed the sound was on mute. I switched it back on and then went down stairs.

About 3am this morning I woke up and heard "dun, dun, dun, dun". It was the PC booting back up. I walked in to the study and there was the PC firing up, after it must have re-booted.
I have no idea why it would have done that. Even if it was a power fault, it would have just shut down and stayed off.

When I got up this morning, I asked my GF why she turned the sound off. She had no idea what I was talking about.

Any idea?

Might of restarted because of Windows XP auto updates, if its left there, was 5 mins it auto restarts.

I think it's more likely to have been a poltergeist or a burgler!

it could of been her bit on the side sneaking out the door, accidently nocked the computer on his way out?.....

my old comp used to do this, i thought i was switching it on in my sleep!

if i turned it off because it crashed or something (Held the power button) it used to turn on in 2 hours time by its self

my pc beams messages through my teeth, keeps telling me to burn the house down over and over again.
I told Pc World but the work experience kid just looked nervous

i think your girlfriiend was either looking at porn or talking to her secret lover on msn, she realised you were going to wake up and quickly restarted it, jumped into bed and is now pretending she doesnt know anything.
