yes, a quick car but i hope that a seat ibiza 1.9tdi will give a standard type r a good run for its money.

ibiza 1.9tdi (with seat approved chip) has:
200bhp
approx 240+ lbs of torque

civic 2.0vtec has:
197bhp
around 150 or so lbs of torque (i think)

Both around 200bhp but tdi engine has loads of torque which pushes you back into ur seat at only 1900revs. I test drove the 130bhp version and that scared the **** outta me cos i didn't expected so much torque to come in at such low revs.

so what do u think type r owners? civic vs. ibiza?

edit:
0-60 times are:

civic: 6.8-7.0 secs depending if its got a lightweight fly wheel.

ibiza 1.9tdi 100bhp 10.7-10.8 secs
ibiza 1.9tdi 130bhp 9.4 secs
ibiza 1.9tdi 160bhp (cupra version) 7.6 secs
ibiza 1.9tdi 200bhp (chipped) ??? secs

0-60 times for the CTR are a bit out

6.6 secs in the book for pre 04 models and 6.4 for the 04 onwards. but there just cautious, standing start in a standard you can do a 6.1 if you get a good launch.

also whats the price of the ibza ? (200 bhp) ?

price of civic new £15950 + £955 = 235 BHP

i got those figures from a forum.

brand new seat ibiza 1.9tdi FR 3 door for around £13,000 (or £500 more for the 5 door)

but i'd go for a 6 month old for around £10,000 + £450 for a chip = 200bhp and 240+ ilbs of torque.

Plus you can do 40-45 mpg (urban) in the ibiza but only 20-25 mpg (urban) in civic and insurance group for standard civic is like 16 or something like that but ibiza is only group 7!!

standard drivin on stats alone the sea would **** all over the civic imo as its a peaky motor and to b honest not many car drivers can use it to its full potential... the only fast car drivers i know are bike riders as they know how to rev an engine... and change up&down gears properly. imo
