I don't agree mate, if he buys a rack it will have a chin up bar anyhow (most do), as far as I'm concerned having the lat pull down stack is almost essential (lets not forget most of these stacks have a high and a low pulley, many more exercises than just lat pulldowns, tricep pushdowns, rows, lat raises, cable shrugs, cable upright rows the list really does go on and on)

agree with biker here although, if hes buyin a rack, you can use your bar to do upright rows and stuff

He's on a budget so just making it cheaper. If you've got a rack that lets you squat and bench, everything else can be worked as effectively with free weights - IMO.

I got my pull up bar from here

http://www.jayebe.com Quite expensive, but holds alot of weight (120kg/18 Stone) and you can put it out side. White one is cheaper for some reason.

Hi Jas,

I just bought that powerline rack and it's great.

Much higher quality than I was expecting for the price (200 quid from gymratz). It's more solid than it looks in the pictures.

The safety sabres are solid steel and heavy so I use them for grip training when they're not in the rack.

The pull up bar in the rack is fine except that I'm too tall and the rack only just fits in my garage so I have to put my head between the beams when doing pull ups!

One thing, you definitely need a 7ft bar for it so the weights go outside the cage.

Cheers,

-zoidberg-
