Hmm not sure mate the home test used a strip that changed colour and according to what the chart said my total was 149 and on the chart of whats counted normal ext under 150 was good and under 200 was high average above 200 is dangerous.

I had a cholestorol test last week and I have to wait 7 days for the results. Plus i had to starve myself for 12hrs before the taking of blood.

If you schedule your test for 9am, would it count as 12hrs starvation if you went to bed at 9pm the night before and skipped breakfast? Would that work or do you need to be awake and active for 12hrs before the test? Is it specified?

Hmm, fair enough guys, the test told me no fasting was needed just a list of foods i couldnt have eaten in a few hours up to the test.

Re: How cholestrol readers, how accurate?

Im in bupa and get a service (well thats what its like!) every other year. My Chol was 5.2 recently. I think its on its way down though and will have been higher than that this time last year. I had to fast for that, but then there was a host of other tests being done as well.
