| Re: Courier jobs? driving for shell (and esso, both are hoyer contracts) require a c+e as well as passing the adr (hazchem tanks, liquids, flammables course) every 5 years.
a mate from work is in the process of going to them cos it is close to his house and the money is good. the actual wage is 36k for a 38 hour week. You really will not get a job on flammable tankers as a new driver, you have to learn a stable load first before playing with liquid loads. liquids are the worst thing to shift around because they slop in the tanks, making the driving style much harder than belting round in an artic with a load of solid crap in the back.
one thought you might like is bus driving... money isn't as good as artic work but most bus firms put you through the test, give you a stable job. once you pass the test (and any time clause) then coaches are where the money is in bus driving... the old dear trips to the seaside are good earners and they tend to tip you if you aint a miserable git. another mate at work is going back to that.... my bro does coaches when he isn't driving underground trains as a little cash earner...
