If Lost Soul and Pscarb could post a sample diet (or indeed, anyone else)...i would appreciate it. Cheers Patch P.S. How the hell do you PM someone now too? | ;-) | Re: After advice for the wife! Well what are her stats? I am neither LS or Pscarb but i will still open my big gob as i am doing my gfs diet/training![]() I have my gf who is 5ft5 144lb on the following diet. Meal 1: 2 whole eggs, 2 egg whites (omega eggs) Meal 2: Can of tuna, asparagus Meal 3: 4 ounces chicken, green salad Meal 4: 4 ounces salmon, spinach As far as carbs i allow her up to 50 grams of carbs per day either at breakfast or if training right after training, what ever she wants to eat.... Once every 2 weeks i take her out and allow her to have whatever meal she wants and a few drinks just to relax. Training is 4 days per week weights with me alternating between high amounts of sets aka 20-30 with very short rests and keeping reps between 10-20 and work outs where its fewer sets but very high intensity with drops ext followed by 30 mins of incline treadmill. Following this she has been losing weight gradually (she is actually eating much more than she used to because she took her weight from 225lb to 160lb with out a smart diet aka very low cals primarly carbs in 6 months) but she is gaining muscle and strenght rapidly. |

My wife is 5ft 8in **** knows the weight she wont have scales in the house...she is just starting out, since i joined the gym, she is finally seeing the progress that can be made and the difference it can make happiness-wise! She only wants to do 2 days swimming a week to start...i tried to get her to do more but she is a bit stubborn...as far as im concerned she wants to do this so im happy for her! She doesn't want to gain weight at the moment...just tone up ...if i were to guess (hope she doesn't see this) i'd say she was 10-12 stone. |

A bit of a reverse situation to mine then!Basically at the end of the day good fats and proteins is what the body needs and people especially women dont eat enough of these so its just a case of finding what she will eat when it comes to that and then having her eat small amounts of this as many times per day as she can. | |

With that many children it will be a bit more difficult to find time for training (and dieting as kids eat what they eat at times), but it is possible. I am a big fan of lifestyle exercise, so incorporating exercise/cardio into your regular routine - walking the kids to school and back - walking to get the shopping and carrying it back, which would mean a lot more smaller shops with so many in the family (walking is an awesome way to burn calories) Little gadgets that might help motivate her is getting her a heart rate monitor and fat calipers. That way she can SEE how many calories she is burning with the walking, and instead of tracking weight, tracking bodyfat, cause really, that is what most women want to lose, fat, not 'weight' exactly. |
