Re: what bike?

Erm I was making an opinion i don't ride bikes but my dad owns both and we had a discussion if he was forced to give up one bike which one would it be,,, and he couldnt decided..I was just wondering what you guys would prefere..the BHP I was trying to show they are both at different ends.one a sports bike the other a cruiser... I was trying to see what you guys would do in that case as they are both completely different types of bikes to compare!

I was also trying to ask waht is more impressive and older bike liekt he triumph with less umph but defintely a classic! or a modern top bike good looking and powerful!!

What bike would you choose out of the 2

Re: what bike?

i think id have to have the rsv myself, beautiful bikes... im on a cbt at the mo myself so im on a 125, im doing my theory (2 weeks) and direct access (3 weeks) and for my first big bike i was thinking between aprilia rs 250/ suzuki rgv 250 (there the 2 strokes) and gsxr 400, cbr 400 or vfr 400,

i know i could jump on any bike but i think ill take it one step at a time

the rs 250 is the front runner for me as i love 2 stroke

Re: what bike?

Well i have a tuned R1 and seriously considering getting a KTM lc4 to rip around on..i never get to really rape my bike as i only really ride in London or on the outskirts no more than 7 miles on a dual carriageway!

anyone got any experience with them?

Right well out of those two hardly anyone is going to pick the Triumph, you'd have to be a fan to pick it over a bike that's superior in a lot of ways. Not to be a tad hypocritical to what I said before about bhp but I do fancy the look of the new RSV4 that'll be released at some point

I do get what you mean about classic bikes. My ZRX has a loyal fanbase and although it's not anywhere near as powerful as Kawasaki could've made it (folk can get 150-160bhp at the wheel NA with some modding) the character of the bike makes it an enjoyable ride and it's still plenty fast enough to raise eyebrows and clench buttocks. Although I say you missed the point about being a biker etc I have to admit I couldn't go back to gutless bikes as I'd much rather control a wild stallion than be frustrated on a Shetland pony.

I guess what I'm getting at is power ain't the be all and end all but it's nice to have when you can control it.

While we're talking about bikes...I've been thinking about dumping the car for commuting and opting for a bike with fuel injection (my assumption is that I'll get more mpg for short trips and it'll require slightly less time to warm up) and just something more petite than the ZRX. I fancy a litre bike but can't decide, initial thoughts are of the '02-'04 YZF-R1 or the '04 ZX10R. Any input on either would be helpful.

'Fraid not but you're really missing out by not getting far out of the city, there's so much fun to be had out there in the countryside.

PS-Sorry for the hijack

Vibey as hell...in fact so vibey that when i took my KTM950adv in for a service and took their LC4 home,my bollox were...erm....well fooked!!(the ride home is like 8miles).

BUT,i have rode the newer 690SM which is a totally new engine and smooth as a billiards ball, whether this is a good thing or a bad thing is down to ones preference,i almost flipped it into a new Range Rover sport cos it's so smooth!!

The problem with bikes like these, they're so desirable by bike thieves so consideration where one is going to park it if used for work etc is wise.

My fave bike of all time has to be the 950SM...why do i not have one? ...cos i'll lose my licence...last ride on one had me doing 100mph wheelies and it eventually ripped the peak off my Arai tour-X helmet!!

Hope that helps.

Re: what bike?

im thinking of doing my test again soon, had my ktm for 3 months but was too naughtie on it, they wheelie too easy and its so hard not to get in trouble on them, i want another one but not sure yet, either a 625 supermoto again, or a zxr 600(yawn)

my ktm was written off into a car pulling out on me, i might have had time to get out the way if i wasnt on the back wheel!
