Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

Some people have been annoying me recently. Maybe it's the low carbs. Maybe it's the tren. Maybe it's them lol.

1) People who run on the treadmill for 40 mins straight at the same speed and incline when it's a lovely day outside.

2) People who walk on an incline so steep that they have to hang onto the top of the machine and be 'dragged' along.

3) Man who does the same as people in #2 but runs, counting the kcals burned out loud to his mate .

4) Lad who asked me to spot him on bench press between my heavy deads. I had to perform 4 extra reps of deads whilst spotting him as I just about lifted all of the 180k he was trying to bench off his chest.

5) Terry and Davey (not real names but look like they should be) who put nearly ALL of the 20k plates onto the incline leg and do 1/8 reps with Terry pushing the weight and Davey pushing with his hands on his knees bouncing his thighs off his pot belly.

6) Bloke who does biceps curls with the olympic bar with 2k plates on each side when I'm waiting to use it to bench with. Standing in the squat rack to perform his set.

7) Bloke using the bench I need for incline dumbells. 'Are you using this mate' I say. 'Yes mate' he says. He then kneels by it and rests his forearms on it to start a 30 rep set of wrist curls.

Ah...glad that's off my chest.

Tut tut you shouldn't be disturbing the muscle gods in the curl rack ya know......

You get them everywhere though - easiest way to **** me off in the gym is to completely disregard me because I'm female (and chubby and not their idea of 'hot totty'). All too common from the 'rude boys' in the gym.

Re: Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

we have a guy at my gym who is an i.t expert and has been moved from india
for work at a city bank or something.
he is such a pain in the **** cos if someone has left 20k plates on the shoulder press machine or some 25k plates on the leg press he will ask anybody if they will take them off for him as he feels it will be to heavy for him to do on his own .
now after a while you can imagine the stick he got for this (not bad just banter).
the really funny thing is , if mates are having a laugh with each other he will start to laugh as well even tho he has no idea why they are laughing and to make it worse he has the deepest loudest voice you have ever heard and then he starts making some strange sounds we all p1ss ourselves.
i have called him ahpoo cos he sounds just like the simpsons shopkeeper.
its priceless.

Re: Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

I cant even start to explain what kinda people we have in our gym.

1. 1 Guy that walks with his arms so pumped out sticking his muscles out (which he doesnt have much of) and then loads so much weight on every single machine he does hes technic looks so bad it looks like it could cause serious damage to him.

2. The same guy and others that come over constantly trying to give advance about how to do different moves like "21's" as if they are the only ones that know, and go on and on and on as if they know everything. But these are usually the over weight ones which pretend they been there and done that.

3. Like you said above, the treadmill folk! LOL

4. The music which couldnt motivate anyone its that poor.

5. The young lads which come in with no idea what they are doing and instead of building a routine or asking anyone they just use all the machines incorrectly and move around randomly picking stuff to do.

Just for a start! LOL

Re: Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

I used to have a guy that needed a spot every set, every set he went too heavy.
In the end I told him to use a weight he could workout with and dont bother me anymore.

On another occasion this dude was using 100 pound dumbells for inclines then would just throw them when he was done, that upset me but he had such an attitude I just told the manager.

Another old man that was a bodyguard used to punch all the equipment that had padding like it was a heavy bag, he also made huge noises when he lifted. He was insainly strong for being in his 60's, but he was rather irritating.

Or the guy you ask to work in with that is sitting by himself on a machine, you ask him if you can work in and he says no...................Now that really irritates me, that is some freaky form of control. I asked him twice and he said no twice. I ended up working out with him anyway....lol

I do this! To be fair though it's only because I'm recovering from a knee injury and road-running is too high impact. As soon as I can I'll be back out on the tarmac again if it's decent weather.

What really gets on my f*cking t1ts is weight bangers- those attention whores who are completely incapable of setting dumbells/a bar down on the floor, adding plates to a machine or finishing a set on a machine with stacked weights, without SLAMMING the weight down so as to make as much noise as possible. They're also the ones who tend to make unnecessarily loud noises on each rep.

One lad who was down the other night was only doing press-ups and all I could hear was "URRRGGGGHHH...URRRRRRGGGHHHHHH...JESUSSSSSS....UUU RRRGGGHHH". For a few seconds I thought his mate was bumming him.

Re: Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

Where do I start? The girl who eats a piece of toblerone before each set on the machines (keeps it down her bra!). Then breathes the scent of the chocolate on me when I am dieting?

The bimbo who sits on a bench and texts everyone on her mobile

The idiot who runs on the treadmill and manages to knock the towel off the rail , under his feet, and ends up on the floor most weeks

The young lads who turn up late to try the kickboxing class, then leave after 5 minutes because they can't keep up with the "Old uns"

The ones who ask me "Can you really lift that? You're a woman..." or "What does your husband think of you having muscles?"

But the best I saw was the guy who watched the plate glass window crack in front of the treadmills during an earth tremor, who asked "Do you think I should get off the machine?" Duhhh...

Re: Another 'annoying people at my gym' post.

ive seen a guy doing shrugs with about 8 bloody plates a side, inbetween sets he was resting it on a little machine shelf kind of thing (hard to explain), he lost his grip on a set and dropped it onto the shelf which was very small, basically olympic bar was bent from it the owner made him buy a new one
