Exclamation Local elections, votes are now changing at last

Local elections conservative and liberal partys have shown the Labour goverment up shows people have had enough now and the change is happening now at last. People have woken up to the fact its time for a change and the big vote in 2 years time hopefully this will be the change as well.

Harriet harmen was talking crap on news saying changes are needed meaning more lies again on the way to late for that along with gordon brown you made big mistakes now and its time you were out. You cant look after people on low incomes and everything in a state in this country and lied to everybody.

Map of colour changes shown clear now on bbc link

Have you thought about suggesting a politics sub-forum on the site?

You obviously aren't old enough to remember how bad it was under the Tories Welshy. You really think it's going to be any better under them or the Libs?? I'll guarantee that things will be far worse under either of them within 5 years.

You think the poor have it bad under labour... wait till the tories set to work on them.

FACT - the UK economy has seen growth in every quarter since labour came into power.

It was bad under the Tories, yes. Margaret Thatcher was a nightmare, but she did fight for this country instead of roll over for everyone else....

(and despite what everyone said at the time, the Poll Tax was much fairer than the sodding Council Tax!!!!)

And now Labour have actually become more Tory than the Tories - in the last few years the Labour party have decimated this country. You can't move for CCTV, being watched, monitored, fined, told what to do. This government treats us like children, at least the Tories gave you some autonomy :(

Saying that, that Cameron bloke doesn't exactly inspire confidence!

Edit: the thing that bugs me about the LAbour government is they don't reward ordinary people who work. The only people who seem to get rewarded at the moment are jobless chav breeding machines. People who want to work for a living are taxed to death, with no discernible benefits.

Re: Local elections, votes are now changing at last

Labour have got complacent and arrogant - they're still riding a wave of popularity which began to turn years ago - they just haven't realised yet!

They've upset people so much that as far as they're concerned, anything will be better, and voting for other than Labour will be a big wake up call.

It's not necessarily the Labour party who are a bad party, it's the bullies and egomaniacs running the show who cause all the trouble....

/political rant - thinking nice thoughts........

Sorry but giving handouts to everyone who can't be ars*d to work or every immigrant who wants an easy life here is hardly a better economy.

I think if someone is able to work then they should be made to fvucking work and why should we subsidise 13 year old chavs that get pregnant.

Labour have always won votes by appealing to the lowest common denominator and to win votes they have fvcked up people's attitudes to work, school and discipline. We have a nation of underperforming children who don't want to learn and all they aspire to do is have a council house and get benefits.

Labour, if anything, are making the divide between the classes even greater. The poorer may have more money but because of this they certainly don't want to better themselves and improve their social status.

Exclamation Re: Local elections, votes are now changing at last

We ant living in the past in the past of history when things were worst. Where living in the present when things are crap now so putting up with rubbish like past was worse yes it was but the fact remains things are crap now so dont put up with it its going to get worse even more by saying things like the past was worse and doing nothing about now letting it carry on. Also thinking that makes nothing change in the future or the present now by thinking of a past.

The past is the past live in it you get no were and gloom over that. Live in the future and present you go places living now what counts not what happend years ago time for change now not when its to late like its going now with Labour. There's new people around now so the time for change its the best time as ever!

I may be only 27 but I ant daft loads people claiming the sick and dole nothing rong with them and working on the side its still going on. The police, fire, hospitals and nurses are all in mess same with teachers, houses and food are crazy along with fuel put up council in mess also tax is crazy the list is endless with all this the backbone of everything your going down.

Look at the votes local elections it speaks for it self the hole country ant living in the past anymore they want change and they want it now if you dont like it get used to it cause things are about to change now people put up with so much then comes time for a big change and past has gone were in the present living now.

Re: Local elections, votes are now changing at last

Things wont change under the Tories imo infact they will probably worsen.

They will lower taxes which in theory sounds good but if things are **** now with the money spent on them imagine how much worse they will be with less money comming in?

Everyone picks up on people claiming this and that but thats just a drop in the ocean compared to say what MP's claim etc, an example is Tony Blair who on 60k a year and more was claiming for his TV license which the average Joe has to pay for.

Labour have messed up big time i agree but another party in power will make no difference. The problems of the World economy have to be addressed and as said above the poorer lower paid people have to be helped not hindered.

Maybe im biased because i remember the tories of old and some of them are still in the shadow cabinet and a leapord doesnt change its spots.

I must say I have to agree with this.

People need to remember that Labour isn't a socialist party and hasn't been for over a decade, politics has changed beyond all recognition since the 1980s days of right and left.

I am not a tory but the sooner people realise that 'new labour' is screwing up this country the better.

So many people are doing the same. And many people more would do, if they were in a position to do so.

I think it's only a matter ofa few years before I do the same thing.

The only time I look at Britain and feel proud is when I'm away, in a 3rd world country. Then I think it's not so bad. But that's not right.
We used to be great and we still could be. Some say we're a puppet for the US to play with. I've got far less problems with US and far more concerns with being Europes puppet. Especially as it's always Britain that goes by the rules and is forced to apologise if we stray from the EU guidlines.
