| Who nicked my hair? | Re: Any mechanics on site? it could be anything really... if i was under the bonnet i would be able to see what was going on... it would help to actually know what type of engine it is... my bet would be the carburretted crossflow but i moved away from ford after killing my 1600 pinto engined cortina mk 4....

you still have a working one? blimey... cams were easy to fix... in fact, it all was.... another good mod.. sierra 5 speed gearbox... all you have to do is change the first motion shaft... either that or stick the complete engine/gearbox in in one go.

Yeah it's had a Granada engine and Sierra box but it was like that when I bought it - rattles in the tunnel and scares my passengers! Fixing the cam just means I can hear everything else ![]() Only major problem with it is the price of petrol means I can't drive it as much as I'd like ![]() | |

I've had the fuel filter changed & it hasn't sorted the problem. It's gone into Ford today for them to have a look as it's still under warranty. I'll keep you posted.

(turns out it was a leccy pump but as it was getting no juice we couldn't hear it buzzing) we opened the auxilliary fuse box under the lid, number 1 slot, black fuse - opened it up, it was a diode. we wrapped copper round the plugs on the diode to bypass it temporarily. jump started the car and it worked fine, no problems. went the gym, went home, got in car about 2 hours later, gone again. doing my nut in now, it's going the garage first thing in the morning. diode was still wrapped up, nothing i could see wrong, hopefully the garage will get it sorted. |
