| UK-M's 'bit of rough'  | Bloody Vodafone! (rant) Had a bill from Vodafone the other day. I've finally got the cash in the right account to pay them. Just tried to reply to a text and the ****ers have barred outgoing texts and calls. At 9.30pm! :( So I tried to ring them from my mobile - their number is barred too. Try to ring their 24 hour helpline from landline - I need to input my mobile number - can't do it cos my keypad is shagged. Press the 'other' button. then whatever to get me to the 'pay your bill' bit. Where the stupid cnuting computer bint asks me to input my number. So I do, and it works..... Then I'm told I need a PIN for that service and besides they close at 8pm they'll be open again at 8am tomorrow.... I did mention this was a 24 hour helpline? F uckwits! :axe: I've now sent them a very 'polite' email along the lines of 'What part of 24 hours don't you sodding well understand? Please tell me how I can pay my bill and actually get to talk to a real person! :rage: Gah. :frusty: /rant I think I'll just go and read a book for a bit..... |

(rant) Contract for 7 years ends in december 2007 September 07 I ask for it to be cancelled - "not unless you pay til end of contract" September 07 I have it disconnected and write in giving one months notice - no reply but line cut off for inbound and outbound - phone not in use October 07 - another letter giving 1 months notice, no response November 07 - as above December 07 - phone in and ask why no response, "sorry no letter sir, you owe us this month" January 08 - letter sent - thanks but no thanks, please cancel it January/feb/march 08 bills sent Each month, phoned and wrote and sent in envelope they sent stating i didnt pay, please listen to your records. "you have canelled the line but not the contract, you owe us £141 and counting" April 2008 balifs come round shouting, i tell them to fcuk off 2 weeks ago, i phone them and say "see you in court folks"

I ended up cancelling their direct debit access to my bank account and leaving the ball in their court after it became clear that they had no intention of actually noting my cancellation. Every month for about 6 months they rang me saying I owed them x and y, I just plainly said "no, I sent the letter". One day I had someone for Vodaphone ring me who possessed more than 1 brain cell, she was some high up manager persuing outstanding bills, I explained the whole affair to her and the matter went away. Just a bunch of incompetents, but it's normal these days for companies to save money at the expensie of future business.

Did you send your letters by recorded delivery to prove someone signed for them at Vodafone? If not, you may aswell p1ss in the wind. You have to rely on Royal Mail to deliver them. If you did, your doing right taking them to court.

The recorded phone calls which were dated are evidence enough that i have asked if they have received the letters and are they cancelling the contract. This alone stands up in court as many have found to their benefit

| Re: Bloody Vodafone! (rant) Recorded delivery stands for everything. That means that Vodafone are in receipt of your letter. The balls in their court then. Even if the calls are recorded, but they say they never received the letter, that doesn't mean sh1t unfortunately. There's no proof it was sent or received. I know how it works, trust me on that. Good luck though.
