If I was you Offo I would get rid of that Sorry ass game Rainbow 'we aint improved it one bit' 6. Call Of Duty 4 if you plan on going online is the game to get. If not Assasins Creed has a lot of playability and GTA will be awesome as well.

You will not have a problem with them exchanging the Xbox for you mate just see what you can get out of them.

Well it'll be a great week for me if I manage to get these Derby vs ****nal tickets (April 28th) plus GTA:IV on release day (April 29th I believe). It may just mean I'll have to take the whole week off school!

Your Box is Fcuked, either take it back to the shop or send it back to microsoft, they might give you a new one with a falcon chip to prevent from rrod again although they still F up... Ps3 ownz!

Take it back to the shop. If it's still under warranty, MS will repair it; either way, the Sale of Goods Act still applies, which means that goods supplied under a consumer contract have to be fit for purpose. It's broken, it's not fit for purpose. Get it back there ASAP and quote SoGA at them.

Just ring microsoft mate, i got mine sorted just before christmas and it was one of the first batch that came out. Theyve extended the warranty to 3 years aswell, and make sure u get them to bring the label when they collect it

Well I went back to the shop today and got a replacement no questions asked was a piece of **** no problems in and out in 5 mins got home well guess what! They forgot to put the the AV Lead in so I can't even play on it now! I called them 10 mins ago and they are gonna send it me in the post ASAP.. fuel and parking is a bitch to pay all the time... talk about ****...if it don't work with the AV lead i am gonna do something silly haha!

For anyone else who actually has this problem, it's a rather simple problem in most cases. Because microsoft has used 'xclamps' to hold down the heatsinks, after time they loose their springyness and don't hold down the heatsinks tight over the processors. Because they use lead free solder which is brittle and the motherboard can now warp, the connections to the 2 chips crack and guess what you get the 3 red lights so you need to fling the xclamps away, apply new thermal paste and bolt the heatsinks down over the processors using allen key bolts (m5 x 10mm), spring washers and nylon washers (for correct spacing). switch the console on and wait till 3 lights turn to 4, this means the console is overheating, leave it like that for another 30 seconds for the connections to relow (melt back together) then switch off, let it cool and tighter up bolts tightly. put it all back together and you have a permanent fix.

dont beleive me, try it, i have fixed a fair few.... you send it back to microsoft they dont do this, they use a heatgun to reflow the connections and add another heatsink to keep the console cooler.

Not a good idea i'm afraid!! Unless you want to burn out all the parts in your xbox rendering it completely useless then I wouldn't try it....

tempory fix mate is wrap it in like 4 towels really tightly, turn it on and wait 15 mins for it to overheat then take towels off and let it cool down for 15 mins then turn on console and should be sound! apparently damages more but i did it do mine 2 months ago when it had three red lights and its worked fine ever since.
