![]() | Hi everyone, this seems like the place to be asking this kind of question but I'm not sure so feel free to move it if it isn't! I've recently moved down south and I thought I'd finally take my brother's advice and start some proper weight training. Trouble is, the only gyms I've found in the local area are the usual suspects, Virgin Active, Fitness First etc, that will provide a lot of what I don't want and not much of what I do. I checked out www.therealgym.com but all of the contact details listed for the area are out of date. I'm going to scout out the addresses later on, but it's not looking good. Does anyone know of any proper gyms in Camberley, Farnborough, Aldershot or Sandhurst? With all the army types around here I'd be surprised if there was nothing, but I've had no luck so far! At a pinch I could go to Bracknell or Reading, but the other places would be more convenient. Looks like you've got some very active forums here, so I'll hope your combined knowledge can help me out! Cheers, Nav |

![]() ![]() | Re: Gyms in Surrey/Hamps/Berks Nav there is quite a few gyms knocking around in the Aldershot area, as well as Sandhurst etc. I will get you the numbers when I pass them, but there is a BB type gym in Aldershot Town Centre, that is just behing Yates pub on the High Street. I think it's £10 a week for training, or £30 for the month. Find Yates in the Shot, turn right and walk up the alley way (there is shops up there) and then turn left at the end (about 50m) and Eddies gym is there about 20 metres on your right as you look at it. Cheers

I Use a gym in between north camp and Aldershot - its situated next to the tennis courts and by the army! Dun bells go to 30k, smith goes to 110k - its ok gym not great - its what I am using currently. Has a **** load of cardio machines too, 5 running machines, 2 rowers, 4 bikes 5 cross trainers.

Its about a 15-20 min walk from Belly Busters in North Camp if you know where that is! I am still at this gym, it was my first gym I joined and I think its good. Go down and have a look around. Dunbells start from 1k all the way to 30k ( which now is to light for me ) has a few machines. Personaliy I like it. Until I max out all the weight and am able to do slow controlled sets ill still go there. Its been really busy recently but back in december it was dead. Go down sat, one of the good trainers work there on a Sat. Hes a really nice guy, has helped me a lot. So I would say its a ideal starters gym, it is in my opinion more of a fitness gym than a body building gym, but they offer 6 month subsciptions which in my opinion is great as after 6 months you can decide if you need to move on to a more body builder orientated gym.

![]() ![]() | Re: Gyms in Surrey/Hamps/Berks Walk past there and turn left for the Garrison gym. It has heavier DBs going up to 50kg, smith machine 200kg + and 2 separate bench press. **** load of cardio machines too. It is a military gym, open to civilian users. I would give both a try and see what you think? G gym also has 50m swimming pool and cardio classes like spinning etc. Never been to energy gym, so you would have to check them out for yourself dude:lift:

![]() | Re: Gyms in Surrey/Hamps/Berks Sounds like just what I'm looking for, cheers guys! I won't be able to get down there this weekend but I'll try and get in during the week. I had a look round Aldershot centre the other day, including the Arcade, and couldn't see a gym anywhere round there. Is Eddie's still open or just hard to spot? |
