Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

yanks will find an excuse if joe wins. They never admit defeat. Also they are too lazy to come on our soil and fight.

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

joe said he wants to knock hopkins out! but i cant see that happenning unless joe is 100% on the ball! hopkins is no fool and isnt the best in the world for nothing, hopefully joe is gonna win but as it gets nearer i usually start getting little doubts.....look at the clinton woods fight last week i said he was gonna win big and then he lost big looked kike the pressure got to him? hope joe doesnt feel the same......

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

Calzaghe isnt Woods and imo truely is the best at SM and i rekon he will be the best at LH even though this is his first fight at the weight. He looks so much better half a stone up in weight. He even said its the first time in years hes been a few days out from a fight and not realy weak and starving hungry.

Calzaghe on points or hopefully a late stoppage.

All boxers make excuses when they lose not just yanks. I mean there isnt many who come out and say i was beaten by the better man, what they usually say is i struggled to make the weight or i had a virus or the old food poisioning excuse lol.

Hopkins is past his prime but will still make a good fight of it but i think Joe wil be to busy for him.

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

Echoe that Rob mate....I think if hopkins can catch Joe it will be hard, but joes footwork and handspeed are second to none. So if he utilises that then Joe on points....If the judges are fair that is

Both fighters have excellent chins and i cant see an early stoppage but i think the pace of the fight and Joe's workrate could cause trouble for Hopkins's old legs later on.

Yes mate but wil he be confident enough to plant his feet and really let the power punches go what with his brittle hands and all.

At the start of his career his was a big puncher but since his hands got worse he has changed.

I agree mate but I think with the extra weight on board and the expectation coupled with his hatred for hopkins he will knock this typical brash yank out - calzaghe k.o or stoppage. Can't wait bring on sunday morning 3:00

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

this has all the makings of a great fight! and i know calzaghe aint no clinton woods but styles make fights as do nerves thats what i meant, look back at calzaghes career he hasnt met the type of top quality opponents that hopkins has, plus hopkins has faced this type of pressure before on the big stage but calzaghe hasnt been under this type of pressure before! i still think joe will win but i think its gonna be a close one.

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

I don't think hopkins wil be able to keep up with Joe over the fight and Joe lands so many "point" scoring punches that he's hard to beat, he hasn't got massive KO's in him but he grinds the results out.

Anythign can happen though, I didn't think Hatton would lose, but he did, we'll see I expect.

Re: Calzaghe V Hopkins :D

The last fighter Hopkins fought with the speed of Calzaghe was Roy Jones jr and he couldnt handle him.

Hopkins lost twice to Taylor who isnt al that tbh and had a win against a weight drained Tarver and Winky Wright which sounds impressive but Wright should not fight over Middleweight imo he just isnt strong enough so all in all i think he wont be able to cope.
