 | international sms Hi, time for a moan. I have a contract mobile phone I just got in January. I like the phone and I get lots of free texts and call minutes etc. OK  However lately I have been sending a lot of SMS to a friend in thailand. I assumed they would be deducted off my contracted minutes or texts but just at a higher rate. How stupid of me! Of course if these mobile phone companies can make more money they certainly will and they do. :crazy: The sms messages for me are charged at about 35p and they dont touch my contracted sms or minutes. The slimey mo'fos. I have to pay the additional cost at the end of the month. If i'm sending like 20 a day that going to soon add up. :crazy: So I want to ask if anyone has any ideas. I have heard of some services I can use for an additional cost at a cheaper rate. Some use a PC others can be used on a mobile. Ideally it would be best if i could send the text to a UK number that forwarded it onto the final address. The cost could be deducted from my contract minutes or sms, great. Is there such a service????? Thanks for your time  :beer1: |

 | Re: international sms what company you with, im with o2 and when i was in tenerife i never got charged a penny for texts, just £80 for 20 mins on the web ffs:( Rumour has it, o2 deduct 4 texts for every international text. |

 | Re: international sms Give your friend an English sim card, that way they have an english number, and you can send them texts at english rate even though they are abroad, they wont need to pay to recieve texts either. when i go italy my mate and i have an italian sim card for texting our friends in italy, other wise its bout 35p to text their italian numbers whilst where over there.
