![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Dumbell weight jumping! GRR! Another gym grumble.. Our gym has free weights from 0kg-50kg in intervals of 2kg. so.. 24kg, 26kg, 28kg etc.. Untill it gets to 30kg.. then it goes.. 30kg. 36kg, 40kg, 50kg. The jumps are just to much. If you are slowly adding on weight to bench press for example and you want to go up by 2kg you cant, you have to take a massive jump which is just to much. Anyone elses gym got this kind of annoying problem?

Ideally they'd increase in 0.25kg increments, but this would be too expense & space consuming for your average gym. It would also be a pain in the @rse finding the right one. |

I personally just use a BB, as you suggest, chucking in DB's for a little variation once in a blue moon. |

Ah finally on incline bench press today did that jump from 30kg to 36kg and was not to much trouble actually. Could probably do the 40kg without to much extra work. I think it was more of a mental block. Yea i use a smith machine and cable machine and all that for varity but i feel i get a raell good deep attack when using dumbells to do my chest But sod it as you say just work it hard and use em to fail or use other equipment until you ready for the jump SORTED
