uni gym

I have just joined my uni gym, was fairly cheap, £100 for seven months.

but when i went to the weights section it was soooo small

there is only shoulder press machine, reverse peck deck, chest press, couple of leg machines, the machine where u can do bi cep pull ups or use it for tris and another bi cep machine.

with a very small section of free weights,

there is a virgin gym in leeds city centre which is £32 a month for students.

thing is money is going to be tight with going out food etc.

do you think there is enough in the uni gym for a good work out ?

any routine suggestions ?

the uni gym is on the ground floor of my fla and has a swimming pool.

what do you guys think ?

cheers

Re: uni gym

I'm actually really surprised at this, as in my experience - having been to Queen's Belfast and visited Edinburgh, Glasgow Caledonian, Uni College Dublin and Dublin City University - uni gyms tend to be quite good. Edinburgh even has a powerlifting club. And normally you just pay as you go, I thought. It does seem a bit wänk, really - maybe persevere so as to not lose the money (I was a student for 5 years and know how bad it can be!) but seek out an affordable alternative. At the end of the day, £32/m for Virgin isn't bad.

In that case ask for your refund tomorrow, and then go gym shopping. Tell us where you go to uni and someone might know an inexpensive spit-n-sawdust gym that will let you pay monthly or quarterly without a contract.

True that, Limerick uni has a superb gym equipped with all powerlifting gear and tons of good things even a lifting plateform.

Re: uni gym

Bath University has an amazing gym too, shame more are not up to that standard.

If your in Leeds go knock on Andy Boltons door, that would be some motivational training.
